Modern Slavery Statement

This statement comprises the Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement of India Infrastructure Finance Company (UK) Ltd. ( IIFC (UK)) for the financial year ending 31 March 2018, in accordance with the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Type of Business and Business structure:

India Infrastructure Finance Company (UK) Limited (IIFC (UK) Limited) (the “company”) is a subsidiary company of India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL), which, in turn, is a wholly owned enterprise of the Government of India (GOI). IIFCL, the parent company of IIFC (UK) Limited was established on 5 January 2006 under the Indian Companies Act 1956 and provides long term rupee loans to Indian companies implementing infrastructure projects in India. India Infrastructure Finance Company (UK) Limited was incorporated on 7 February 2008 and is registered with the Registrar of Companies of England and Wales at London under the UK Companies Act 1985. IIFC (UK) Limited provides long term loans in foreign currency to companies implementing infrastructure projects in India. The company lends under the Government of India approved Scheme for Financing Viable Infrastructure Projects through IIFCL (SIFTI). Our register office is situated at 3rd Floor 72 King William Street London EC4N 7HR.

Modern slavery and Human trafficking policy:

This statement aims to affirm the position of IIFC (UK) against any form or manner of slavery, servitude, forced labour, human trafficking, sexual exploitation, child labour, physically abusive disciplinary practices or any similar manner of victimisation of employees of IIFC (UK) or in the supply chain. IIFC (UK) shall, under no circumstances tolerate forced labour and breach of fundamental human rights.

Due Diligence and compliance:

The main resources of IIFC (UK) are its employees working at all levels including the directors.

IIFC (UK) is committed to safeguarding the principles set out in the Modern Slavery Act, 2015 against modern slavery and human trafficking. In a bid to prevent people from being treated as commodities and maintaining human dignity, IIFC(UK) is committed to maintain the transparency in its business practices and working conditions. IIFC (UK) shall ensure that its hiring and remunerative practices are continually compliant with the relevant legislative requirements.

IIFC (UK) has zero tolerance towards slavery and human trafficking and shall communicate its modern slavery and human trafficking policy to its principal suppliers, contractors and business partners. IIFC (UK) shall not support, deal with or partner with any such business which is knowingly involved in slavery or human trafficking. IIFC (UK) shall terminate its relationship with any employee or business found in breach of this policy statement.

This policy statement has been approved by the Board of Directors IIFC (UK) and shall be reviewed and updated annually.
